Obituary for Ronald R. Duresky

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 11 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Princeton, MN, for Ronald R. Duresky, age 81 of Princeton, who passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home on October 4, 2018. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Kari Pancoast will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, October 19 from 4-7 PM at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Princeton. Burial will be at a later date in Oak Knoll Cemetery, Princeton, MN.

Ronald Raymond Duresky was born on December 29, 1936, to Raymond and Margaret (Marushin) Duresky in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from North High in Minneapolis with his best friend, Doug Persons, in 1955, and then they served their country honorably together in the United States Army. While in the Army, Ron served in Germany in the Communication Core. He returned home and two years later married Judith Persons on January 30, 1960, in Minneapolis. He worked as a union floorlayer for many years. In 1972, Ron and Judy moved to Waskish, MN, to own and operate Sunset Lodge on Upper Red Lake. During their time in Waskish, they made many friends and lifelong friendships that Ron cherished. In 1986, they moved to Princeton to start Duresky Floor Covering. After many years of hard work, Ron retired. Throughout his life he enjoyed his garden, family hunting and fishing trips, spending time with family attending children/grandchildren’s sporting events where he left a lasting impression with the referees, trips to Waskish, and cocktail hour around the campfire. Ron was truly one-of-a-kind, making friends wherever he went! He was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Ron is survived by his wife, Judy of 58 years; children, Mike (Lisa) Duresky of Zimmerman, Robert (Pam) Duresky of Aurora, CO, Ronald F. “Frank” (Jana) Duresky of Waskish, Karin (Jess) Duresky of Stewart, Dan Duresky of Princeton, and Kristy (Corey) Pink of Stewart; 22 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Joy Duresky of Princeton; grandson, Daniel Duresky; sister, June; and two infant sisters.
