Obituary for Robert "Bob" Joseph Biniek

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Robert “Bob” Joseph Biniek, age 72, who passed away Thursday at Mille Lacs Health Care in Onamia. Rev. Thomas Knoblach and Rev. Jimmy Joseph will officiate and burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the church. Parish Prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday evening.

Robert Joseph Biniek was born June 15, 1946 to Frank Edward and Martha (Hanfler) Biniek in Little Falls, Minnesota. Bob graduated with a degree in Mathematics from St. Cloud State College in 1971. He served in the U.S. Army from June 1970 - December 1971. During his tour in Vietnam, he was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Bob married Marjorie Karen Schoeberl on August 12, 1972 in Minneapolis. He is the father of Ann Marie and Gregory Robert. Bob was employed at DeZurik of Sartell as an accountant for twenty-nine years. He lived most of his life in the Sauk Rapids area and moved to south St. Cloud in 1998. Bob enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, and all sports. He was a loved husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family greatly and attended all of his grandchildren’s activities. He had never ending candy and ice cream sandwiches, the greatest bear hugs and the most heartfelt “I love you’s”. He will be forever in our hearts.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Marjorie “Margy” of St. Cloud; children, Ann (Faron) Popp of Sauk Rapids and Greg (Amy) of Sauk Rapids; grandkids, Jacob, Elijah, Grace, Ian, Tyler, Asher and Amiyah; brothers and sister, Donald “Donnie” of Bowlus, Patricia “Patty” Janey of Brooklyn Park and Dennis (Shari) of Bowlus; and brother-in-law, Doug Wood of Brainerd. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Martha; step-mother, Marcie; sister, Marlene Wood; sister-in-law, Marlys Biniek; and brother-in-law, Raymond “Ray” Janey.

Memorials are preferred to Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
