Obituary for Loretta C. Kosel

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Monday September 24, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park for Loretta C. Kosel, 84 of Waite Park, who passed away Thursday at Quiet Oaks Hospice House. Visitation will be 5-8 Sunday September 23, 2018 at the Williams Dingmann Funeral Home in Saint Cloud and from 9:30 – 10:30 AM on Monday at the funeral home. Parish Prayers will be at 5 PM at the funeral home on Sunday. Rev. Timothy Gapinski and Rev. Greg Lieser will officiate and burial will be private at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Waite Park.

Loretta C. Kosel was born on January 6, 1934 to Theodore and Clara (Klaphake) Wiebolt in New Munich. She married Harold J. Kosel Sr. on May 11, 1954 at Immaculate Conception Church in New Munich, MN. Loretta worked as a head cook for District 742 schools for almost 30 years as well as a nurse’s aide at the Waite Park Nursing Home. She was a devoted and faithful member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park. Her faith gave her a sense of strength, comfort and fulfillment. She was a member of The American Legion in Waite Park, VFW Post 428, Christian Women, Women of the Moose, Eagles Auxiliary and The Daughters of Isabella. Loretta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and loved her family. She enjoyed many activities including gardening, line dancing, bowling and playing cards to name a few. She will be dearly missed by all.

Survivors include children, Richard Kosel of Billings, MT, Virginia (Jeff) Michalski of Sartell, William Kosel of Louisville, CO, Harold Kosel Jr. of Waite Park, Marie (Mike) Palmersheim of Pearl Lake; grandchildren, Brian (Heather) Michalski, Kathy (Nick) Nelson, David Michalski, Danny Kosel, Alex Kosel, Emily and Sam Palmersheim; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Bernard; many extended family; and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Kosel Sr.; granddaughter, Jena Lee; daughter in-law, Ruth; brothers, Wilfred and Herbert; sisters, Irene, Mary Ann, Cyrilla and Lorinda.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to CentraCare Hospice and the staff at Quiet Oaks Hospice House.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Quite Oaks Hospice House.
