Virginia "Ginny" Godeen, age 73 of Princeton, died at Elim Care and Rehab Center in Princeton, Minnesota on April 4, 2017.
Virginia Ann Mills was born April 19, 1943 in Wright County, MN and graduated from high school in Buffalo, MN. Ginny was an excellent piano player and served as the church organist at her church in Buffalo during her teenage years. She was a great bowler and was one of the top bowlers in the ladies’ Princeton bowling league during her early years, accumulating many awards and trophies which she proudly displayed in her home. She loved to play cards, especially cribbage, and enjoyed going to the casino. She loved her dogs, cats and pet birds and cherished spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Godeen; and parents, Ervin and Irene Mills.
Ginny is survived by her children, Kurt Thompson (Mari Taffe) of Minneapolis, Chad (Lisa) Thompson of Zimmerman, and Ward (Jill) Thompson of New Hope; her grandchildren, Derek, Brennen, Austin, Samantha, and Katherine; and her former spouse and father of her children, Gary Thompson of Zimmerman.
The family would like to thank the Elim Care and Rehab Center staff for their gracious and loving care of Ginny during the past year and a half.
Per Ginny’s request, no services will be held.
