Obituary for Scott M. Gustafson

A celebration of life will be from 4-6PM on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud for Scott M. Gustafson, age 60, of St. Cloud who passed away surrounded by his loving family at the St. Cloud Hospital on Sunday, October 22, 2017.

Scott was born July 20, 1957 in Crookston to Willard “Swede” and Shirley (Olson) Gustafson. He met, Sue Lenarz, in Crookston in 1985. The couple married on December 31, 2001 in the comfort of their own home. Scott worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator until his retirement. Scott journeyed through dialysis for 13 years and was given the gift of a kidney donation in March of 2015. He and his family are so extremely grateful for this gift of life; and often advocated for others to become organ donors. He enjoyed tinkering in the garage, the great outdoors, nature/Science Fiction shows on TV, and was well versed in WWII history. Scott will be remembered most as giving, kind, brave and his great sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Scott is survived by his wife, Sue Lenarz; daughter, Abby Mosbeck of Thief River Falls; four grandchildren; siblings, Dianne (Loren) Frances, Julie Anne (Jim) DuRose, Paul Gustafson, Mickey Thompson, Kurt Thompson; aunt, Lorna Bosworth; uncle, Orv (Gail) Olson; cats, Gracie and Josie; in-laws and extended family who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Gregg Gustafson.
