Obituary for Scott A. Schamber

Scott Alan Schamber, 67, of Princeton, was called home to heaven by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 21, 2017 after a valiant battle with cancer.

Scott was born on March 9, 1950 in Helena, MT to Norman and Arlene Schamber. He graduated from Elk River High School in 1968 and married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Kreger on August 22, 1970. They lived in Elk River where they raised their two children. In 1995, they moved to Princeton.

Scott was an employee at Federal Cartridge in Anoka for 46 years. The most current job title he held was Senior Supervisor Center Fire Ballistics. He loved his job and the people he worked with. Over the years, he made lifelong friendships with his coworkers and would often spend time with them outside of work.

Scott was an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoyed playing baseball, football, and basketball in high school, coaching his children's sports teams, and playing golf. He kept up on the Twins, Gophers and Vikings as well. He was also a competitive runner who participated in 6 marathons and several half marathons, 10k's and 5k's.

Family was everything to Scott. Family time was spent playing sports, cards, hunting, fishing, and taking vacations. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing around the campfire. Scott is survived by his wife, Beverly; his daughter, Jennifer (Nate) Kick of Princeton; son, Benjamin (Kristel) Schamber of Nisswa; and five granddaughters, Laura, Hannah, Sophie, Aubrie, and Reese. He is preceded in death by his father, Norman; and mother Arlene.
