Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton for Lawrence “Larry” R. Popp, age 51, who passed away Sunday at his home. Rev. Roger Klassen, O.S.B. will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Saturday at the church in Royalton. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids.
Lawrence Robert Popp was born May 20, 1966 in Little Falls to Dennis & Ardella (Stowe) Popp. He graduated from Royalton High School in 1984. Larry married Renee Chmielewski on May 23, 1992 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rice. He lived and worked all of his life on the dairy farm that he grew up on near Rice. He started the purchase of the farm and cattle in 1997. Larry was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, past president of the DHIA, and member of the Langola Livewires 4-H Club. He enjoyed farming, 4-H, showing cattle with his kids, and watching his kid’s activities. Larry was a strong, caring, hardworking, loyal, energetic and loving man. He was the best husband, Dad and farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Renee of Rice; children, Allison, Corey, Nicole, Nathan, and Aaron all of Rice; siblings, God Mother, mother-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, God Father, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
