Obituary for John W. Brinkman

John W. Brinkman, age 64 of Zimmerman, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at his home. John William Brinkman was born on July 10, 1953, to John and Mildred (Anderson) Brinkman in Michigan. In 1983, John met the love of his life, Amy Stifter. They made their home and raised their three children in Bloomington, moving to the Zimmerman area in 1999. John worked for Pump & Meter Services, Inc. as a Gas Pump/Hoist Repairman until he was injured and could no longer work.

John loved Nascar and was a huge Dale Ernhardt fan. He would always cheer for his Detroit Lions and enjoyed friendly bantering with his son, Chad, about how good the Minnesota Vikings really are. John was a handyman of sorts, plowing driveways with his truck and helping out with whatever his disability would allow. He was dearly loved by his three grandchildren.

John will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Amy; sons, John and Chad (Sam); daughter, Kim Olson; his grandchildren, Jessa, Jacob, and Payton; brothers, Steve (Sue) of Mount Clemmons, Michigan, and Robert (and his wife) of Puerto Rico; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Karen Brinkman.

Services are pending.
