Godzala, 93, of Sauk Rapids who passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Country Manor in Sartell. Rev. Ralph Zimmerman will officiate and burial will be with honors in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at church on Friday. Ed was born November 7, 1923 in St. Cloud to Frank and Mary (Leschnik) Godzala. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII aboard the USS McCaffery in the Pacific. Days after his honorable discharge Ed met the love of his life, Rose Kinzer, truly love at first sight and the couple danced the night away. The couple was married on November 28, 1946 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring. Ed worked 30 years in construction for Eagen McKay until his retirement. He enjoyed making bird houses and clocks, westerns, sports, and lived for fishing. Ed walked strongly in his faith and is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sauk Rapids. Most importantly, Ed loved his family beyond words. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Ed is survived by his children, Ron (Bobbie) of Brooklyn Park, Gloria (Jim) Kessler of Excelsior, Linda (Otto) Hubachek of Baxter, Ed (Cindy) of Sauk Rapids; daughters-in-law, Bridget Godzala of Little Falls and Carol Godzala of Champlin; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
