Obituary for Dean A. Chmielewski

A Celebration of Life Banquet will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the Friendly Buffalo, 16722 198th Ave., Big Lake, MN for Dean A. Chmielewski, age 61, who passed away Friday at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Dean was born September 11, 1956 in St. Cloud to Delroy & Veronica (Kampa) Chmielewski. He married Sandra Dumonceaux on Nov. 30, 1974 and together they were blessed with three children and were later divorced. He lived in Montana, North Dakota and Minnesota. Dean enjoyed barbequing, hunting, fishing, golfing, playing cards, reading, watching football and spending time with his family and grandkids. He was very outgoing, humorous, genuine and carefree. Dean lived simply, he didn’t need a lot to be happy.

Survivors include his children, Sheila (Kelly) Novak of Foreston, Kari Chmielewski of Monticello and Jordan Chmielewski of Big Lake; sisters, Diane (Pete) Iten of Remer and Debbie (Glenn) Gohman of Clear Lake; grandchildren, Brady and Tayler Novak; and nieces and nephews with whom he had a special relationship. Dean was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Denise Hansmeier and Donna Roelike.

The family extends a special thank you to the Cardiac Care Unit at the St. Cloud Hospital for caring so deeply for our Dad.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be directed to Dean’s favorite charity.
