Obituary for Clara J. Stine

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Clara J. Stine, age 98, who passed away Sunday at St. Benedict’s Center. Rev. Timothy Gapinski will officiate and burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Willow River. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Saturday at the church.

Clara J. Stine was born in Clear Lake to John and Flora (Kalkman) Anderson. She married Tom Stine on June 21, 1941 at the St. Marcus Catholic Church in Clear Lake, lived in Willow River until they moved to St. Cloud in 2000. Clara graduated from Clear Lake High School at the age of 15 and then attended St. Cloud College and began her teaching career in Willow River teaching 1st – 3rd grades when she was 18. She made a difference for children for 36 years, finally retiring in 1978. Clara loved roses, gardening, playing Bridge and golfing. She was easy to talk to and was the life of the party. She loved her family and walked strongly in her faith.

Clara is survived by her grandkids, Stacie Stine, Andrea (John) Nelson, Cynthia (Rick) Nelson, Missy Stine; great grandchildren, Zachary, Jonah, Timothy, and Alyssa Nelson; great-great grandchild, Athena Hassan-Nelson. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom on Dec. 4, 2001; daughter, Pamela Stine; son, John Stine; brother, Dwight Anderson; sisters, Mary Ann Smoger and Florence Jurinsky.
