Obituary for Arthur H. Gronau

A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids for Arthur H. Gronau, 92 of Sauk Rapids who passed away at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Art was the last surviving sibling of his family.

Arthur Henry Gronau was born on July 7, 1926 to Carl and Hertha (Meinert) Gronau in Sauk Rapids, where he grew up on the family farm. He has lived in Sauk Rapids for all of his life. Most recently, he worked at Independence Center, completing various jobs. As a boy, he spent his time catching pocket gophers for the 10 cent bounty. Art enjoyed watching is Minnesota Twins (when they won), playing checkers, cards and solitaire on the computer. He also loved joking around with everyone he met. Art was a very kind and friendly man who truly enriched the lives of those who knew him.

Art is survived by his sisters in law, Darlene Gronau of Sauk Rapids and Evelyn Gronau of Sauk Rapids and 16 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Anabell Walz, Ella Gruska; brothers, Richard, Ted, Walt, Ed, Albert and Donald; and infant brother, LeRoy.
