Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Chapel in Sauk Rapids for Irwen F.E. Wendorf, age 95 who passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home. Rev. Martin Langemo will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.

Irwen was born April 22, 1919 in Hewitt, MN to Herman and Emma (Volkman) Wendorf. He was in the U.S. Army during WWII serving from 1941 to 1945. Irwen worked as a guard at the St. Cloud Reformatory for 25 years retiring in 1974. He was a member of the Sauk Rapids American Legion Post 254 and a life member of the East Side VFW post 4847.

Survivors include his daughters, Renea (Tanes) Barclay of Pillager and Cheryl (Daniel) Burk of Chatfield; sister, Stella Helmrichs of Deer Creek; grandchildren, Shawn (Amy) Burk of Chanhassen and Cheri (Dan) Bates of Sauk Rapids; great grandchildren, Barclay and J.D. Bates and Claire and Reid Burk.

Irwen was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Mable Baumgartner, Edgar Wendorf, Martha Bennett, Alvina Bohmbach, Minnie Whiting, Alfred Wendorf, Ruth Carver, Alma Cornell, Marvin Wendorf and Roy Wendorf.
