Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sauk Rapids for ElRoy F. Reberg, age 92, who died Thursday at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. Rev. Harvey Ehlers will officiate and burial will be at Benton Cemetery, Sauk Rapids. Friends and relatives may call from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Arrangements were made by Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.

ElRoy was born Feb. 22, 1918 in Sauk Rapids to John & Alma (Lesse) Reberg. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1941-1945 where he served in the European Theatre in Africa and Italy. ElRoy was a Heavy Mortar Crewman supervising 61 men and received the Bronze Star and Good Conduct medals. He married Ruth Anderson on March 25, 1947. He attended Dunwoody Institute and became a Master Electrician. ElRoy was a State Electrical Inspector for 37 years, retiring in 1985. He then worked part time for Coborn’s for 17 years and also taught at St. Cloud Technical College. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sauk Rapids American Legion Post 254, and member and past president of IAEI in 1974. ElRoy helped with the Boy Scouts for many years. He enjoyed waterskiing, downhill skiing and rollerblading well into his mid 80’s. ElRoy enjoyed spending time outdoors and hunting. He went out of his way to help others.

Survivors include his sons, Richard of Maple Grove and Mark (Vicki) of Big Lake; daughter-in-law, Sandra of Madelia; brothers and sisters, Morris of Sauk Rapids, Layton of Sauk Rapids, Joyce Horton of Port Orchard, Washington, and Norma of Sauk Rapids; and grandchildren, Alex, Dustin, and Kevin (Julie).

ElRoy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth on Oct. 4, 2009; son, Bruce; brothers, Lawrence, Edwin, Milton, Merlyn and Robert; and sisters, Grace Gouldman and Marlene Reberg.
