Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Faith Lutheran Church in Becker for Robert E. Bock, age 79, of Becker who died Sunday at the St. Cloud Hospital. The Rev. Bradley Barr will officiate. Friends and family may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Becker and one hour prior to the services Thursday at the church in Becker.

Robert was born August 29, 1930 in Tracy, MN to Ernest & Martha (Zabel) Bock. He served his country in the United States Army from 1951-1953 during the Korean Conflict. He married Marliss H. Rude on April 14, 1962 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. He lived in the Glencoe area for 23 years and has lived in Becker since 1995. He taught school in Fairmont and Coon Rapids Jr. High School. In 1972 he started Bob’s Plumbing, Heating and Cooling which he ran until his retirement in 1995. He also did carpenter work throughout the years. He is a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Becker where he was active in the Men’s Bible Study. He also volunteered at Habitat for Humanity, Sherburne Wildlife Refuge, and the Sherburne County Soil & Water Conservation. He also enjoyed playing golf. Bob was a long time member at Pebble Creek Golf Course.

Survivors include his wife, Marliss of Becker; children, Daniel (Crystal) of Nicollet, Margo Bock (Mark Chapin) of Roseville, Randa Bock (Tim Petrick) of Brooklyn Park; grandchildren, Carter & Logan Bock, Maya & Seth Petrick; and brother, Gordon (Joyce) Bock of Portland, OR.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lois Hove; and brother, Donald Bock.

Memorials are preferred.
